WATCH: Pagara stops Mexican in round 2

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxer Jason "El Niño" Pagara needed only two rounds to defeat his Mexican opponent, Cesar Chavez, and successfully defend his WBO international junior welterweight championship.
Pagara dropped Chavez twice in the opening round of their Pinoy Pride 29 main event, and finished the bout in the second round when he connected on a brutal left hook that landed flush on Chavez's jaw.
The referee stopped the fight at the 1:56 mark of the second round to give Pagara a technical knockout win. Pagara now has a record of 35 wins with only two losses.

TIME FOR TRUE FILIPINO BOXING FANS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE

On October 17, 2015, a new era in boxing history, at least from the Philippine point of view, will occur. The event would either be a bust or a blockbuster depending on how the Filipino boxing fans will respond to the challenge.

The famed ALA Boxing Promotions of Cebu is coming to the StubHub Center in Carson, California to present their very first US promotions. And to show that they mean business, they are leaving no stones unturned to make the show a rousing success. They are bringing their best guys to the show.

To help achieve their goals, ALA Promotions partnered with the giant Philippine TV outfit, the ABS/CBN. It would not be a surprise if many other notably famous corporations both in the Philippines and in the USA (Are you listening, Corona and Tecate?) will join in sponsoring the big event knowing that ALA Promotions has a great track record in putting up great events like the highly successful “Pinoy Pride Series”... Gerry Penalosa vs Jhonny Gonzalez

Geronimo Peñalosa (born August 7, 1972), more commonly known as Gerry Peñalosa, is a retired Filipino professional boxer.
He is a former holder of the WBC super flyweight and the WBO bantamweight titles. Originally from San Carlos City, he currently resides in Manila. He was trained mostly by Freddie Roach. His older brother, Dodie Boy Peñalosa, is a former boxer and world champion---wikipedia

Luisito Espinosa - Kennedy McKinney

"Luisito Espinosa is widely considered as one of the greatest Filipino fighters ever. Like Dodie Boy and Gerry Peñalosa, he held two titles in different divisions. Espinosa won the WBA bantamweight title on a first round knockout over Khaokor Galaxy in Bangkok in 1989 and claimed the WBC featherweight crown via a decision over Manuel Medina in Tokyo in 1995.

There were several milestones in Espinosa’s checkered career. He repulsed seven straight challengers in defending his WBC featherweight belt. Some of the challengers he victimized were Mexico’s Alejandro (Cobrita) Gonzales who was hospitalized after suffering a knockout in Guadalajara, Japan’s Nobutoshi Hiranaka who capitulated in eight in Fukuoka and US Olympian Kennedy McKinney who was bowled over in two in Indio, California"

Amir Khan: Who should he fight after Mayweather snub?

Amir Khan is looking for a major fight.

The choice to include Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) on this list has to be weighted against the fact that he’ll be sidelined for a significant amount of time due to the shoulder injury he suffered in the lead-up to his fight against Floyd Mayweather. Amir Khan will surely be angling to fight before Pacquiao’s ready to come back, which makes Pacquiao-Khan more of a pipe dream than anything (or does it?). Click for more >>>
