Why Ronda Rousey needs 'Cyborg'

No matter how good Ronda Rousey looks on Saturday in dismantling unbeaten challenger Bethe Correia at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro – and yes, the women's bantamweight champion will unquestionably dismantle her Brazilian rival – it's not going to be enough to silence her most ardent critics.
This is a case where Rousey is helpless...Ronda Rousey (top) made quick work of Cat Zingano in February. (Getty)

Unless she faces, and defeats, Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino, there will always be an asterisk next to Rousey's record.

Rousey is so far ahead of the rest of the field, it's become something of a joke. The debate before her fights has become how quickly she'll end it, not whether she'll win…>>> click for more http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-ufc-190-live-updates-rousey-vs-correia-20150801-story.html#page=1

GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) — Ronda Rousey is in charge now. The unbeaten bantamweight champion is the biggest star in the UFC, and she could have staged her next title defense anywhere in the world before she moves on to her next acting job or book tour stop or red-carpet appearance.
Rousey decided to fight Brazilian challenger Bethe Correia in a raucous arena at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night.
Challenges don't scare Rousey. They're what keep her rocketing along this wild path.

"When I don't have the home-court advantage, that's another thing that really keeps me motivated," said Rousey, who hasn't fought outside Las Vegas or her native Southern California in three years. "I want the fans to know that even though I'm doing a lot of things, I want to be the most active champion out there as well.">>> click for more http://sports.yahoo.com/news/rousey-roams-brazil-plan-beat-correia-ufc-190-220941142--spt.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=fb

Mayweather Flub Puts Boxing’s Next Big Money Fight in Manny Pacquiao’s Hands

By Dennis Cruz

Floyd Mayweather is so desperate to show the world that he (and he alone) calls the shots, that he’s willing to nix the biggest money fight currently available to him in favor of one reviled by all and likely to be an economic flop.

Recent reports have indicated that Mayweather is close to signing a bout with damaged-goods former welterweight titlist Andre Berto. Even more recent reports, however, indicate that Berto is the leading candidate for the September 12 bout because the logical leading welterweight candidate happened to anger the current pound-for-pound top dog. click for more >>> http://boxingtribune-news.com/posts/2931810/mayweather-flub-puts-boxing---s-next-big-money-fight-in-manny-pacquiao---s-hands.html

Why Andre Berto can do better against Floyd Mayweather than Manny Pacquiao

John Dennen speaks exclusively to Berto’s trainer Virgil Hunter about fighting Mayweather

ANDRE BERTO is the favourite to fight Floyd Mayweather on September 12. Mayweather has begun his training camp, though not yet announced an opponent. Berto has been in the gym training diligently for the last five weeks and is ready to fight in September.
Berto would be major underdog against the pound-for-pound ruler . But, speaking exclusively to Boxing News, Berto’s trainer Virgil Hunter explained why he thought Andre could do a better job against Mayweather than Manny Pacquiao did in May.

Messi, Suarez, Neymar trident to strengthen in second Barcelona season

Messi, Suarez and Neymar are arguably the best attacking trio in the world.

Luis Enrique is very fortunate to have arguably the most spectacular attacking trident in over 115 years of Barcelona history at his disposal. While the Catalans' much-improved defensive stability also played a considerable part, it is clear that the historical Champions League, Liga and Copa del Rey treble achieved last season would have been impossible without difference-makers Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar. A new theory explains why Floyd Mayweather is fighting such a weak opponent in his 'last fight'

Ethan Miller/Getty)

Floyd Mayweather's last fight may not actually be his last.
In recent weeks, the boxing world has
heavily criticized Floyd Mayweather for reportedly picking Andre Berto, a low-level fighter who has lost three of his last six fights, as his September opponent in what Mayweather has claimed will be his final fight before retiring.
However, a new, and popular, theory has emerged explaining Mayweather's rationale — this won't actually be his last fight - Click for more >>> http://finance.yahoo.com/news/theory-explains-why-floyd-mayweather-153038216.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=fb
