Pacquiao urged to probe case of OFW 'scalded' by employer

MANILA, Philippines — A migrants rights group on Thursday urged Sarangani Rep. and Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao to look into the latest case of a Filipino maid who was reportedly maltreated by the mother of her employer in Saudi Arabia.
Fahima Palacasi Alagasi, 23, a native of Pikit, North Cotabato, was purportedly scalded after the mother of her Yemeni employer poured boiling water on her after she accidentally dropped a water heater while making coffee.
John Monterona of Migrante-Middle East also hit Philippine embassy and labor officials in Saudi Arabia for mishandling the case filed by Alagasi against the mother of her employer.

Love triangle eyed in MMA champion killing

The police is eyeing a love triangle as one of the motives in the fatal shooting of mixed martial artist Ale Cali last Sunday.
Cali, 25, was gunned down by unknown motorcycle-riding suspects in Davao City.READ: PXC mourns Ale Cali’s untimely death
“It might be a case of love triangle or have something to do with his business,” said Davao City police director Vicente Danao in a report on Fight News Asia

MANILA Philippines – Another day, another victory and another reason for Filipinos to be proud.
Filipino-Australian Jason Day has sent Filipino Twitter users on a frenzy after capping off his Whistling Straits campaign on a victorious note on Monday morning in Manila.
A lot were happy to see Day emerge triumphant in the 2015 PGA championship. And big golfing names were joining the fray as well.

MMA fighter Ale Cali shot dead in Davao City

MANILA, Philippines – Former PXC flyweight champion Ale Cali was shot dead for still unknown reasons on Sunday, August 16.
Davao City Police Department confirmed the tragic incident but refused to divulge other details pending completion of investigation.
